Hard Work That’s Lots Of Fun

We are looking for hardworking teachers/counselors to join our team this summer.  Teachers will work with a classes of 30 students.  Classes will typically be divided into grade 7-8, 9-10, 11-12.  Each class  will have one teacher and a bi-lingual teacher assistant (For lower English level class only) who will help the teacher with all the of activities.

The teacher will instruct and guide students through lessons and activities from the plans and materials supplied to the teacher.  Each teacher will perform a wide variety of duties.  It’s a challenge and it’s one of the most rewarding things you will ever do.  By the end of the summer, you will have discovered a lot about Chinese culture and about yourself.

Be Prepared

Life as a teacher/counselor in China is not an easy job.  The hours are long and children keep you busy around the clock.  You will teach them, eat with them, field their inquisitive questions and be their friend.  Apart from your regular counseling responsibilities, you will also be learn to adapt to unfamiliar customs, traditions and approaches to the Chinese summer camp model.  Be strongly advised that this program is rigorous.  You may experience culture shock and physical stress due to changes in diet and other factors specific to the climate and location of each camp.  This is not a holiday.  Accommodations are not luxurious.  Adaptability and flexibility  are essential for this program!
