What is Fun
English camp?

Our
English Camps are
English-speaking day/resident camps for
children
and teenagers throughout
Taiwan. Most of the
camps take place in a school setting during the months of
mid
January to Mid February, and July and the
first/second week of August. Taiwanese students attend the
camp with the goal of learning and improving his/her English.
We have developed a fun English language program that is a
mixture of games, arts and crafts, drama, and lots of English
conversation. Programs are separated into three levels:
elementary school, junior high school, and high
school.

What is the job of
the teacher?
|
|
We are looking for
top-notch teachers to join our teaching team this summer.
Candidates must be available from the first week in July
through the first/second week of August. The teacher will
work with a class of 25. Classes will typically be divided
into grade levels: k-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12. Each class
of 25 will have one teacher and a teacher assistant. The
teacher assistant will help the teacher with all of the
activities. Additionally, the assistant will be able to speak
both Chinese and English and serve as translator when
necessary. The teacher will instruct and guide students
through lessons and activities of the program. All lesson
plans and materials are supplied to the teacher. Each teacher
will perform a variety of activities and each day promises to
bring something new. Apart from normal teaching duties, the
teacher needs to be flexible and able to adapt to a culture
different than his/her own. Teaching in the Taiwan summer
camp is a challenging as well as rewarding
experience.

What are the
teacher qualifications?
|
|
|
A BS or BA
degree is preferred. Current college students will
be considered if they have experience working with
children or camp counseling.
|
|
|
The teacher
must hold a valid US passport.
|
|
|
Teaching
experience is preferred, however we will consider
candidates who have had experience working with
children.
|
|
|
The
candidate must have a keen interest to teach in
Taiwan.
|
|
|
Teachers
must be flexible, patient, enthusiastic and have
boundless energy.
|
|
|
What do you
get?
|
|
|
We will
provide a roundtrip airline ticket from LAX to and from
Taiwan.
|
|
|
You will
receive a weekly stipend in either US or
Taiwan dollar.
|
|
|
You will be
picked up from the airport in Taiwan on your arrival and
returned to the airport upon your departure. If you
choose to leave before the summer camp is completed, you
will be responsible for your return airfare.
|
|
|
Your
accommodations will be home-stays with Taiwanese
families, or dorms.
|
|
|
Lunch will
be included during your stay with the camps.
|
|
|
We will
apply and pay for your required travel visa.
|
|
|
We will
provide an orientation.
|
|
|
You will
receive training for the camps upon your arrival in
Taiwan.
