ESL4Asia Inc. is the leading source for teaching
jobs in Taiwan that hires foreign teachers to legally work in
Taiwan. It is in our best interest to place good teachers in
good schools. We provide job-seekers the opportunities for an
adventure of a lifetime. We highly promote teaching and
learning, so as a teacher at one of our schools, you will not
only get a decent wage or salary but an enriching and
stimulating learning experience. We provide our teachers with
many fun and interesting activities to do, so our teachers
have a balance between work and play.

ESL4Asia has
been a fair and helpful employer. If Taiwan, East Asia, or the
whole English-teaching scene is a new experience, ESL4Asia is
a wise decision to first get your feet wet. It is a relief to
come to a new continent and have so much ready for you;
employment, a place to stay, transportation, and, most
importantly, an organization that has you interests at heart
and is always helpful and guiding. They genuinely want your
time in Taiwan to be enjoyable and productive. This is a
company that not only provides living assistance, but also a
network of support and friendship with their other teachers.
Taiwan, as a
living experience, is also welcoming. The people are
hospitable, curious, and respectful towards you. There are
great vacation spots and beautiful scenery just a few hours
from the unpleasant city life scene. I find myself fortunate
being able to live in a foreign country for an extended period
of time and make some decent money at the same time. However,
Taiwan is at times strange and frustrating. It is a country
that is so very different and so very foreign, but still
possible to find good salsa, ground beef to make hamburgers,
the latest movies, or any book you’d ever want to read.

I have had an enjoyable and rewarding
experience teaching for ESL 4 Asia. For first time teachers in
Taiwan ESL 4 Asia is a good company to work for. The company
will work together with you to organise your preffered work
schedule and obtain your ARC. The only thing you really have
to worry about is the actual teaching.

I'm thankful to have been given this
opportunity, to teach and live in Taiwan, and i feel I have
you and the company to thank for it. So, thank you!

I want to start by saying what a
pleasure it has been working for your company. You have helped
make what is a very daunting experience, a very enjoyable one.
I have found the assistance and service I have received to be
of the highest standard and would be happy to recommend other
prospective teachers to ESL 4 Asia.

I remember
Taiwan as being quite a big adventure. I taught kindergarten
age and I look back with a lot of fondness at my young
students. I remember one little girl, her English name was
Betty, she was so adorable! She would come and sit on my knee
after class and she would look at me with such adorable eyes!
Try to have that kind of love while working in a regular job
back home! I would spend weekends with some new friends and we
would dance in nightclubs until 4:00AM - it was such a
celebration, I remember feeling incredibly free. I had a good
Taiwanese friend who would take me to old teahouses and we
would sip Taiwanese tea. My friends and I traveled around
Taiwan on our school break and we headed to the south coast
and went swimming in the ocean. I look back on those
experiences with such fond memories - great times with good
friends and fun teaching too.

Thank you very much for the opportunity you brought
to me. I am having a
fantastic
time teaching in Taiwan.
It is
always good to be someplace where everyone knows your
name. Being in a foreign country is not usually one of
these places...unless you are "The Foreign Teacher." You will
find that everyone MUST know your name, because this is a
vital piece of information that they know about this new alien
teacher. The teacher that looks different and speaks a
different language. Younger children find
foreign teachers fascinating, so the language barrier is
not a problem because this forces them to listen, challenging
them to learn. A good foreign teacher has a grand
opportunity to make a lifetime impression on our young fertile
children.
Some think you are funny, some are curious,
others forget that you cannot understand them. During
the first few weeks of landing on their territory,
the children will be very star struck and will follow the
teacher everywhere. (the bathroom and all the way home!) The
foreigner must carry an abundance of energy and
patience. The children will remain intrigued by this
"alien" that has come to teach them.
My Spanish
teacher could, but never would, speak English. She had the
right idea- at the wrong time. I speak English only in
my ESL classrooms, this is the idea. I don't see my
students becoming frustrated or overwhelmed as I once became
with my Spanish teacher. This is because my timing is
right. Younger children are very meek therefore they can
benefit from a native English teacher, who cannot speak their
language. This can pave a smooth path for the children
as they advance to higher grades. It is imperative that
children be taught correct English at this vital age where
these first impressions will stick with them throughout
life.

I just wanted to tell you that
everything has been really great here. My bosses, Joanne
and Ivy are nothing short of wonderful and the schools that I
work in are really great and really fun. To be perfectly
honest, I have not had even a so-so day yet. Each and
every day is better than the last. I am spending
Chinese New Year in Hong Kong which will be really cool.
I've made some good friends here, most notable Raphael, whom
you obviously know. He says alot of good things about
you as well. Anyways, I hope that you are doing good and
thank you for all your help!
Rafael
Sorry I took long to update you. My flight was
uneventfully long. David (Mr. Tai) picked me up from the
airport on time. I have a place to stay in Jungli, I
guess I will be teaching in Shimpo (I hope I spelled that
right) in Irene's school. I am replacing the English
teacher from S. Africa, Allison. Yesterday I went to the
school and observed Alison's class. I will be going to a
teacher training in Tai Pei sometime this week. I will
probably start teaching as soon as the trainings are
completed. I have my future students and I think they
like me already. However they are having a hard time
giving me a Chinese name :)
Still adjusting to the time change. However, I am
enjoying my stay by the second.
Thank you again for letting me have this opportunity of a
lifetime. I needed this change in my life precisely this
time... I am grateful to you... I hope to see you and spend
time with you when you come here in December. Maybe I
can show you around Jungli. :)
