Information for Application for Visitor Visa to Taiwan, the Republic of China

1. General Requirements

(a) Passport valid for at least six months

(b) One passport size photo took within the last twelve months at photo studio

(c) Completed application form (with telephone or fax number for contact)

(d) Financial statements which are issued form your bank (bank account balance)

(e) Copy of airplane ticket or travel itinerary from travel agency

(f) This office may request additional information or documents for further review Visa Fee

(a) Single Entry: $36 US Dollars

(b) Multiple Entry: $72 US Dollars

-Payment for visa application will be accepted only by Cash, Money Order, Bank
Draft, which must be made payable to Taipei Economic &
Cultural Office.

(c) Gratis for passport of U.S.A., South Africa, Indonesia, Singapore, Korea, Nauru,
St. Christopher, Greece, Costa Rica, Senegal, Guatemala, Swaziland, etc. under
reciprocal agreements.

2. Duration of Stay

The visa holder will be allowed to travel to Taiwan within three months after the date of
issue and stay in Taiwan for a period of two weeks, thirty days or a maximum of sixty
days, which may be extended in Taiwan with the approval of the authorities concerned.

**Note

If applications are by mail, a self-addressed Xpresspost from the Post Office is required.

Applications will not be accepted if the above requirements are not met.
Generally one working day is required for processing the visa application.
Application by mail should bear in mind that seven days or more of mailing time
is reasonable.

3. INFORMATION FOR VISITOR VISA TO THE REPUBLIC OF CHINA

Eligible Persons	Foreign nationals, who hold ordinary passports or other travel documents, intend to stay in the Republic of China for less than six months for the purpose of transit, sightseeing, visiting relatives, paying a visit, attending a training course, receiving medical treatment or engaging in business or other activities.
Requirements	1. A passport valid for at least six months; 2. One duly completed application form and one photo; 3. An incoming and outgoing airline or verifying purchase of steamship ticket or a letter such as a ticket. 4. Documents verifying the purpose of visit; and 5. Other relevant documents.
Visa Validity	1. For foreign nationals from the countries with which the ROC has entered into reciprocal visa agreements, the validity of their Visitor Visas shall be decided in accordance with the said agreement. 2. For other foreign nationals, a Visitor Visa is valid generally from three months up to one year.
Duration of Stay	1. Fourteen days 2. Thirty days 3. Sixty days
Fee	1. For foreign nationals from the countries with which the ROC has entered into reciprocal visa agreement, the visa is issued gratis. 2. For other foreign nationals, the visa fees are: single entry: N.T.$1,200(U.S.$36) multiple entries: N.T.$2.400(U.S.$72)
Remarks	Visitor Visa holders who are permitted to stay in the ROC for sixty or ninety days and whose visa bears no such remark no extension will be granted, may apply at the nearest city/county police headquarters for a maximum of 180-day extensions.
